A Lime and a Heartbeat

I'm thinking we will soon have the makings for a really good seafood dish.
First the little pumpkin that is starting to make me have a buddha belly was compared to the size of a cocktail shrimp. Yesterday my book said it was now the size of a lime. Talk about a growth spurt!
My stomach and the rubberband holding up my dress pants say it looks like it should be the size of a small watermelon. At least that's how I feel anyway.
Here's another thing people can never fully explain to you before you get pregnant... you will go through this fun phase when your regular clothes aren't exactly comfy, but maternity clothes are still a few months away. Its a joyride finding a shirt that isn't a tent, looks nice, but is long enough that it covers the fact that you're pants aren't always buttoned.
My closet and I had a real heart-to-heart at 7am this morning.
I then had to actually climb up into the attic, get down a box of my fall clothes, (even though it is still over 80 degrees outside) and pull out a few shirts that are typically the outer layer of a two or three layer ensemble to wear. (But you'd never know that my pants aren't buttoned today!)

Tomorrow morning is finally the day Ben and I get to go hopefully hear our baby's heartbeat!
I am equally nervous and calm. Nervous that I will forget some or all of the questions I want to ask our doctor, and calmed that I will finally get more than a pink line, constant hunger, and unbottoned pants as evidence that we are expecting.
Is it kind of weird that it is still a little surreal to me that I'm pregnant? I mean, I can't really feel it, can't see it, can't hear it... so I think actually hearing the heartbeat will be a big moment. A REAL moment.
So we're praying that all goes well, and are really really excited. And I welcome your prayers for a strong heartbeat too :)

Til next time, I'm off to go search for non-maternity maternity clothing. Peace.

xoxo

OH yea, I remember that phase all to well, and honestly, I think I did go ahead and start wearing maternity clothes. You can always buy a size bigger than what you were...b/c you could wear them after you have the baby as well...I didn't buy those clothes, but should have b/c I didn't get right back into my old stuff ( and some of it still haven't...sadness )
