I'm In Love

Good news! According to our fabulous doctor, we've got a baby with a strong beat!

And I will go on record as saying today was one of the most moving moments of my life.
And I think Ben's too. She put that little machine on my belly and started looking for the heartbeat, and I was fine. Not a tear in sight. But as soon as the words "there's your baby!" came out of her mouth... I lost it . Well, more accurately, we lost it. It was so sweet. I thought my chest was going to explode.

I was just not expecting the sudden rush and intensity of relief, joy, and LOVE for that super-speedy little heartbeat! Incredible, incredible, incredible.

So all is well in the Baby White world. 2 more months and we can start picking out tiny dresses or cargo shorts!

In other news, it may or may not be official, but in my world it is now Fall. It does not get any better than Fall, people.
Fall means I get to break out the pumpkin, cinnamon, and clove candles; I get to wear boots; I get apple cider, mums, and a pumpkin carving kit; I get pumpkin cinnamon icecream (don't knock it til you try it, its heaven); I get to decorate the house and make it feel warm and cozy; I get a new wreath for the front door; I get to stockpile candy to give out in a month; I get to prepare my T-day arsenal of recipes that I want to cook- the yearly "must have"'s, and the "must try"'s; and I'll admit that I even get excited about the football. Football on tv just brings home that ultimate Fall feeling. There are so many more good things that come ... the colors, the leaves, the weather, the clothes, .... hope you are loving it too! I'm off to go find some mums and pumpkins. And maybe a little icecream.
