A Recap

Here's a little recap of what my excited mind (and Ben) finally decided to do this weekend. I have to say, it was awesome.

Thursday night we went to the MTSU/Troy game... you know, supportin' the local community and all. I ate a really greasy pepperoni pizza, and Ben bumped into one of his kids from his classroom who was just too excited to see him. It was precious.

Friday night... wait. Let me back up.

Friday morning Ben gets up and ready for school, and is heading out the door ( I typically get up about the time he leaves) and comes in to give me the customary "Hey babe. Good morning. Its time to get up."
Ummmmmm. Excuse me?
"Ben," I say, as sweetly as possible at 6am, "it doesn't matter what time it is.
"What? Seriously. Get up babe, so you won't be late."
"Babe. IT. DOESN'T. MATTER. what time it is." Is all I can repeat in my groggy, semi-frustrated state.

Two second pause.

"OHHHHHH. Crap. Ok. Shoot."
"Yeah, thanks for being sweet and waking me up and everything. But I have no where to be."
So I guess before he gets my morning wrath of I-could've-slept-til-9, he pecks me on the cheek and flys out the door with a trailing "Have a wonderful day baby!!!". Oh, sweet man.

So back to Friday night- we went out with some friends to this wonderful little Italian restaurant on the square called Marina's. YUM. Then we went for a little competitive bowling. Please note by Ben's bigger-than-life grin here that he is the only one who could have actually been considered bowling. The rest of us? Yeah, not so much. But we did have fun!

Saturday we were really lazy, and hung out on the back porch for a couple of hours and had breakfast, went to do some shopping, and spent about an hour at Best Buy (yes, this is a weekly thing). Then for lunch we hit up this place a friend has been telling us about for a while. Guys, it was the best Japanese restaurant I have been to since we moved. It was ridiculous. Its called Sumo on Lascassas in the 'boro. Ben even said it was the best meal he had in town. Yeah, that good. Then that evening we hung out on the couch with a big bowl of nachos while we watched the Alabama/Clemson game. (Clemson who??)

Sunday after church we decided to do a little picnic. And I absolutely love picnics, so I was on cloud nine. So I packed up the basket and we headed out to Arrington Vineyard. It was absolutely gorgeous. Ben took a little snooze while I took a few pictures.

Sunday evening, we also returned to Best Buy. If any guys actually read this blog, get ready. Turned out BB was having a Teacher Appreciation thing. Which means employee pricing for Ben. Which means opportunity knocking. Which means he finally got to walk out with his dream tv. Yes, ladies and gentleman, Sunday night was spent hooking up a 50" Plasma. We are ready for football season and FoodTV in high def. Can we say awesome?

Monday afternoon we had some friends over for some hamburgers and hot dogs and the UT/UCLA game. We had an awesome time, played a little Scattegories, and the guys capped off the evening on the back porch. (And I have no idea why everyone is on the floor. Really.)

And on a final note, here is where I found Stormy yesterday after having 4 days of excitement, us at home, and no opportunities to take her typical 7-hour nap. She was out for the count:

Happy Plasma's and Picnicing!
