Much Love

I am so behind on an update!

What to fill you in on first....

Let's start with how overwhelmed I am at the blessings and love that have been poured out on us throughout this pregnancy. I've never been more at a loss for words or feeling so inadequate at how to say thank you~
My old roomie and like a sister friend Jan and her mom gave us a gorgeous baby shower last weekend; here is a snapshot of all of the amazing friends that came to help celebrate this sweet, sweet time

I may be biased, but I'm gonna go ahead and say that my girlfriends are the coolest. They don't get any better!

Even my mom got to join in on the festivities, (welcome to Baby Shower, 2009 Version), via webcam from Japan! Bless her, she got up at some insane hour like 3am her time so she could sign on and come to the party. True love. ( I have a picture of Mom on the webcam and I, but after counting the number of chins I have in the picture, I will not be sharing. Sorry, but its my blog, and I can only post so much puffiness).

The food was amazing, the presents were perfect, it was such a great time, and I'm ready for another reason to get together with everyone again already.

Now, on to other news...

I've been debating on exactly how much info to divulge on here about the progression of 'things', and then realized that, as is my typical style, I am way over-thinking this stuff.

If you don't want to know details about my pregnancy, just stop reading. There's your warning:) Now I can proceed without hesitation...

Last Tuesday I went to the doctor, and really, I wasn't expecting anything other than what every other mom-to-be has to go through once we start having to go for a visit every week. Blah.

Definitely didn't expect the words "Doing great! 1cm dialated, 30% effaced!"

"What?!?! WAIT. What does that mean?" Gaa, I can be a real genius sometimes. Like I haven't read every pregnancy book under the sun to know what that means.

"Well, just that you have been having minor contractions, she is head down, looks great, and in 9 more centimeters you will have your baby."

"Right. So any predictions on how much longer that will be?"

"Nope, it could go a number of different ways, but you are preregistered at the hospital, so as long as your bag is packed, you are good to go!" Then my doctor hugs me, says see ya next week, and leaves.

No. No no no, I'm not!! The wall in the nursery isn't painted! My floors are not mopped! I need to get my HAIR done! And PS my mother is not here.

That was Tuesday.

On Wednesday apparently I dropped. Or she dropped. Or however you are suppose to say it.
I walk into work and a few of my girl friends just look at me and their mouths fall open.

"What is it??"

"You .. WHOA. I mean, your belly, ... I mean, dude. She dropped."

Which about 12 hours later was also confirmed by Ben in much the same shocked expression. And about 12 hours later I also felt it. Craziest thing. All of the sudden I actually feel very pregnant. These last 8 months have been a cake walk. Now I am carrying all of that cake on the front of my body. Hi, distorted equilibrium.

Well, at least she's headed in the right direction. (Okay. That was awful. But I couldn't help myself :)

So, all of this could basically mean anything. I could be like one of my friends and nothing else happens and I go 2 days past my due date. Or I could be like my sister and be 1cm one week, 2 the next, and have a baby less than 12 hours later.

You never know. Which is why I gotta run, my floors are really dirty.

xoxo
