Rock and Mountains

Long overdue, so here is a picture-laden post of what we have all been up to the last few weeks! I am trying to calculate how many miles Kaelyn has accumulated in her 8 short weeks, but math has never been my friend. I think she's somewhere around 1500 to 2000 miles, maybe more. She's a super roadie.

First stop, Little Rock

Mom, Kaelyn, and I drove to hang out with the Hef's over Memorial Day weekend. Us (We?) girls (somehow that doesn't seem like proper English, but whatever) haven't gotten to hang out all together in one place in years, so it was super special. We did a lot of eating, shopping, laughing, and loving some sister and mom time!

Here Kaelyn is all upset because Mommy wasn't sharing her Starbucks Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. Shame on me.

She got loved on lots by her cousin Charles (who asked if he could be her big brother, how cute is that?!?!)

And she took her first trip to the zoo (she was so excited she couldn't even stand it, so she slept in the Bjorn for 5 hours!)

Next Stop, Maggie Valley

The annual White Family Vacation, with some Gaskins thrown in on the side. =) It couldn't have been any better. We met up with Ben's parents, brother, aunt, uncle, and cousins and his good friend Dubois at the very top of a gorgeous mountain in a cabin that would take your breath away.

Here was the view from our cabin when we woke up in the mornings... sigh. And I had a bathtub that would hold water up to my chin. And people that would watch the baby while I relaxed as long as my heart desired! Heaven!Ben and Dubois enjoying morning coffee on the deck (gearing up for another mean game of golf)
Oh, and lets not forget the grandparents with Kaelyn. That child got more cuddle time than a teddy bear! She loved every single second. We have determined that she is definitely an affectionate one.

Here she is telling Grandmama all about it-

Hangin' with Greg in her favorite chair...

And Uncle Chris... (she's just already got all the boys wrapped around her finger)

...that she determined was her favorite chair after many afternoons (and mid-mornings, and late nights) spent like this with Papaw...

We had a blast walking around the cute downtown area, going to a beautiful farmers market, tubing down the river, braving Ghost Town in the Sky, and playing really entertaining games of Taboo, Scattegories, and Cranium. I would tell stories, but sometimes you just have to be there ( Feiarri, anyone? Lu? Anyone?)

Kaelyn, Chris, and Daddy enjoying browsing at the farmer's market

We enjoyed the first fresh, homegrown tomatoes of the summer. YUM!!

Oh, and K also got her first trip on a ski-lift during our visit to Ghost Town... let me just say that I aged about 5 years and had a death grip on the handle bar that left clawmarks, but she, once again, was so excited that, you guessed it, she slept. =)

Here's to summer vacations and super-juicy tomatoes!

xoxo
