Bricks and the Butterfly Stroke

Here are a few shots from our trip this weekend :

(Dad and Ben checking the validity of the long-awaited certificate)

Ben and Chris talking mischievously about their upcoming Vegas trip ( I do not fear for them. I fear for that town)
The proud family

Now, for the other exciting part of our trip:

The guys finally got to see their permanent stamp on the hallowed Alabama campus:

This is Ben's Bama Brick. Mike and Chris have one on in the same block of bricks too. They were pretty cool, I must admit.
Never have I seen three grown men more proud of engraved building material. (At one point I thought they may take out the next unknowing pedestrian that trampled on them. How dare they.)
A quick note about the Olympics.... GO USA!!!
I have always loved to watch the swimming, especially loved it after I got certified as a instructor/trainer way back when. It is such a beautifully powerful sport. I guess I felt like in some mediocre way I could relate.
And I have rooted for Michael (oh yeah, we are on a first name basis) ever since he showed up with his little 6'7" of a wingspan (or should it be called armspan? Whatever.) I get as fired up about him as some people do about SEC football.
So we watched a lot of the swimming last night. I loved every second of it. My favorite to watch is the butterfly stroke. (You go jump in a pool and see if you can do that for 100m. Yeah. I tried once. Key word being once.)
So of course Ben and I could not go to bed last night until after we watched the men's 400m relay.
OH MY GOSH.
Then we couldn't go to bed because we were so pumped up!
Did you see that race?!?!?!
We'll take the gold, please.
