Mother's Day - Snapshot Style

I was lucky enough to spend the weekend with the a joyful little girl who made me a Mom in the first place. Ben, feeling better and not being able to keep a good man down, is out of town on a little golf excursion, so Kaelyn and I lived it up this weekend. As documented in my Blackberry photos.
Thank goodness for camera phones, or life around here would go somewhat undocumented. And I like memories, so any photo is a good one!

Here is Ben with his incredible mom this weekend. So glad he could be with her, they had a blast!

As for these White girls, on Saturday we found an amazing farm South of the 'boro and took a drive to pick strawberries. I don't know who is more in love with this place, me or her. We will be going back.

Our loot:

Sunday I woke up to "Hiya, Momma! Ge' UP! Let's pway!!!"
She is teaching me daily the benefits of waking up joyfully. Not something I have always done. But how can I not when I hear her chubby little feet running down the hall to our room all excited to start the day?

We headed out for some fun in the sun at the park and nature preserve... was it not the most gorgeous weekend this year??

She decided to pick me some flowers.

Hands down the prettiest bouquet I've ever been given.

Right next to these of course- courtesy of all Ben's hard work in our yard. Love him.

We ate a fun lunch outside, which is always exciting for Kaelyn.

Then went to the farm to get some produce. First tomato of the season!!! This is how I know she is definitely my child. Throw caution to the wind, let the juice run, and eat 'em like apples, sister. All the way.

Afterwards, Kaelyn and I decided we needed a huge bowl of queso and chips for our Mother's Day dinner. So we headed out for some yummy Mexican. On the way there, I said "Kaelyn, are you and I going on a Mommy/Daughter date? This will be so much fun!" She was all excited, screamed yes, we were having a fun time, then she got quiet.

Then I hear, "Momma? Momma? I wanna baby thister to come on date too!!".   Well, by all means.... :) Good thing I didn't leave baby sister at home or anything. Big sister's watching out for this one, lemme tell ya'.

So here is the sort of three of us, on our girl's date for Mother's Day.
I'm a lucky girl.

We headed home, watched Tangled, and then put all those strawberries to work.
First batch of strawberry jam is served.

And then Minnie Mouse called it a day and went to brush her teeth, saying  "I had all those strawberry seeds. And you shouldn't neglect your gums!!" (Name that movie.)

Hope every mom out there had an extra special weekend full of what you love most. I sure did :).
