All by herself

"Let Mommy do it" isn't really accepted in our house much anymore.

We've moved on to the "peez?" (as in, "please, Mommy, let me do it") part.

I love watching her explore, grow, learn, and have fun with all that the world has to offer.
But the cleaning up? The injuries?
Whoo doggy.

Here's my sweet little Ms. Independent doing her thing :)

We found out during a random poolside conversation that there is a gigantic blueberry farm 10 minutes away from our house (wha??? took me three years to find this treasure). So off we go that afternoon with Amber and her little friends.  So much fun!

If you ever at our house and there are no blueberries, something is wrong.
Kaelyn eats them like most kids would M&M's. Sometimes I use them as a bribe. Guilty.

So this, to her, was heaven. Those little chubby cheeks were full of blueberries for a long, long time that day.

Oh, and you wanna know something else?

There is a side effect to lots of blueberries. Day after. GAG.
Just ponder that for a second.

Picking berries:

With her mouth still full...

(The red bucket is what we took home. FIVE pounds of blueberries. Crazy!)

We also had a much-needed, far and few between playdate with the Tilden girls!

Playing in the water: (I'm pretty sure this was right before she fell off the stool. For the second time. Because she didn't want me to hold her. I promise I try to be a good parent. I really do. )

Grace was shining on us that day, because after spending a couple hours at the Discovery Center, Audra and I somehow managed to get the three of them fed and down for a nap, at the same time, and enjoyed catching up that afternoon. Yay for girl time!!

Rocker girl:

And here she is, showing off her new skills :)

I remember way back when, as we were refinishing those hardwood floors, I kept telling myself that it would all be worth it to hear the little pitter patter of baby feet ... and now they're here.

Smile. Sniff. Smile.
