Ok. That didn't happen.
And inside my head can get pretty elaborate and dreamy sometimes. And Savannah delivered.
I'm talking over the top, didn't stop, don't wake me if I'm dreaming.
Ben and I had a Christmas vacation to remember this year, (thanks Lu and Dave!!!!) here are some shots of us and the city.
When I walk in and see these two guys hanging out, I seriously could have gone home happy. (FYI Jamie and Bobby Deen. Please tell me you already knew that though.)
But it got even better when Jamie says to me "Hey, how ya' doin'? Well, looks like someone's havin' a baby!", to which my genius reply is "uh huh". Yes, I get absurdly starstruck over chefs and FoodTV stars. And then he proceeds to tell me that he usually wouldn't guess at that sort of thing and say it to a lady, but since I was "skinny as a minute everywhere except where the baby is", I almost fell out. Skinny as a minute?? Mister, I don't have a clue how skinny a minute is, but I'll sure take it. (Please remember the post of comments I have gotten from bystanders stating otherwise). Jamie, you are girl's pregnant self-esteem hero. Now excuse me while I proceed to go eat in your mama's restaurant two plates of food that I'm sure have no less than 3 sticks of butter somehow mixed in it.
So I didn't get a hug from Paula, but these two'll do.
Ben and I also went on a beautiful carriage ride (if you look closely at the picture you can see Chris, who was asked by our coach, to save us from certain death by unhooking the reigns that had gotten tangled and rendered her with no power steering. He saved the day.) to hear the history of the city, walked along the river, went on a ghost tour, went to the beach ( yeah, the beach. On Christmas day. You gotta love the South), and by Heather's strong and spot on recommendation, went to the best low country seafood boil hangout in town, the Crab Shack. Please don't confuse it with Joe's.

Ben and I happily polished of a couple of pounds of crab legs, shrimp, mussels, crawfish, corn, potatoes, and a yet another bowl full of butter.
Why the distorted picture, you ask? Because it turns out they have a live webcam and I thought I would be sweet and call Heather and rub it in, I mean, tell her to check us out so we could wave hi while we were there, and she found out she could snap a photo too. If you are ever in Savannah, GO THERE. You will never taste shrimp so good.We had a great time Christmas morning opening gifts, and even the dogs got in on the opening action:
We are now settled back in at home, and about to tackle some more clutter and cleaning out for the nursery. More sneak peeks to come!
We hope your holidays have been joyful!

Christmases from here on out will certainly take on a new flair when our newest little Angel arrives ;-) Love you all so very much! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so jealous of your trip, especially the fact that you got to meet THE DEAN BOYS!!!!!!! You are like my hero or something!
ok...so I didn't know them by their pics, but knew the names...cute boys! I think you look precious pregnant...looks like all baby to me! If you're ever feeling bad about remarks people say, I'll send you some of my preggie pics from last time around...talk about a BIG GIRL! I even had docs guessing that I was having a big baby...kept telling them I didn't think so that I was just a big mama, but noone believed me...until my little 6 lb 14 ounce son came along! You look adorable!
I am SO JEALOUS that you got to meet the Dean boys. I would have blushed and possibly cried. :)
