October-In the Beginning.
ROAD TRIP!!
What do you do when you have vacation time, Fall Break and a mini van?
You drive 2,500 miles in a week, naturally.

We loaded up and headed Southwest for Great Grandparent Extravaganza
First, we stopped at Bebe's, but for some reason all of the pictures must be on Ben's phone, so I'll add those later. But the girls love their Bebe. And they loved going to Target, where apparently they cast some spell and got everything their eyes drifted towards, before I had to tell Bebe that I may have to leave them with her because all of their goodies would not fit into their ride.
Next stop, Vicksburg!
Granny White had pumpkin sugar cookies ready and waiting for the girls to ice. And Aunt Tammy and our little Presley (who isn't so little any more... sigh) came to see us, too!
We loaded back up again the next morning for the final leg of the trip.
TEXAS!
Granny Charlotte and Alayna met for the first time. It was love at first
We had sweeeeeet visitors (who brought food. Theme, anyone?)
Lots of cousin time. The Hefners made the trip down so it was one big fun family gathering. The kids were pretty much in heaven.
Ahhh. The best tacos on Earth. Some of us took our taco eating very seriously.
:)
Gramps still schmoozes with the ladies.
And Granny treated all the kids to a new pair of boots. Texas, baby.
My sister and I found a stash of memorabilia our last night there, and found this shot of Gramps in his Air Force days. Look at that handsome fella!
It was a sweet, sweet week. So glad we were able to go. And, Ben was a trooper. Because we found out during the trip that no only were his allergies not a fan of mesquite (or something), he also wound up with pink eye. In both eyes.
So here's the one shot I have of him where you can't tell that his poor eyeballs are screaming in pain.
On our way back home we stopped back in at the Whites. This is where Alayna found her favorite toy of all time. A phone. With a cord. It even had a dial tone. She was completely enthralled.
One more quick stop in to have dinner with Uncle Chris. With a side of coloring.
