Backlogged, Part 2

September, 2012

We went head first into September after all of the fun August had to bring.

I had a very mobile but not yet walking one year old. One with no fear, a high threshold for pain and a big sense of humor.

Because when she wound up with her first ear infection of her life, I didn't even know it. Walked in to the doctor's office to be told she had a 'raging ear infection', both ears. How? What? Why? No fever, no fuss. Some unrestful sleep, that's all you get as a sign that something is off, with a dose of mother's intuition on the side.

She killed time waiting for her shot and played movie star instead.

I scored my vintage high chair treasure.

We soaked in the Indian Summer weather.

And had playdates that took us on train rides and loads of fun.

By the end of September, what we were really doing was resting up....
For October.
