Justa Springin'

Well, I got my wish this year! A little extended Springtime weather (as opposed to last year when it went from 30 degrees to 95 without missing a beat). We've been LOVING it. The girls and I took a trip down to the Hefner's, (K's first intro to the big trampoline.)

One day when she's twenty, she will tell me to stop smothering her with kisses and breathing in her neck, but until then, I do this every three seconds, because my gosh those cheeks are mmm mmm GOOD.

We visited the local park, where Kaelyn and Will had a mission to pick and blow every single dandelion in sight. They did a pretty fabulous job, because there were hundreds of them, and I swear they didn't miss one.

One evening I went out to dinner with some of my college gals, while the girls hung out with the cousins. I think they had a good time :)

Ben surprised me for our sixth anniversary and brought home a firepit, which I've been dreaming of for quite a while (and traditional 6th anniversary gifts are wood and iron- isn't he clever :) , and we have been thoroughly enjoying it!  Perfect for breezy beautiful evenings, with hot dogs and marshmallows. Kaelyn got her first s'mores experience, and I promise I wear more than VS sweatpants on a daily basis, but apparently not according to recent photos.

I have continued the tradition of homemade baby food with Alayna, who has yet to meet a food she does not love. Turnips, peas, green beans, potatoes, squash, all forms of fruit... and who says baby food isn't beautiful! Look at those colors people!

Lastly, that little face down there is turning three in a little over two weeks. THREE.
The blessings that abound in parenting, the lessons we learn daily, the speed and volume at which a three year old girl can talk, and the beauty of life lived simply we see through her eyes every day makes this life a pretty fun deal.

And, Birthday Fairy, she wants a monkey. If that isn't too much to ask.
