Excuses

Actual conversations in our household this week:

Me: "I can't believe Kaelyn will be three months old this week! I really think its time we moved her into the crib in her room."
Him: "Why?"
Me: (Trying not to just bullet point all my reasons and hand him a list) "Well, she's three months. She's starting to sleep through the night. She's more aware of her surroundings, she's getting bigger, and the longer we wait, the more we're asking for it."
( Please note- she is not in our bed. Not beside our bed. Just in our room, in her cradle. But the little stinker kicks so hard now that she can dislodge the rocker-stopper thingie and start swaying herself back and forth. Awesome.)
Him: "Oh. Um. I don't know."
Me: "Why? What don't you know?"
Him: "Well, sometimes she still coughs once or twice at night you know."
Me: " And you snore and drool, and Stormy farts. What's your point?"
Him: " I just don't think she's ready, that's all."
Me: "Right. Because she coughed. You just don't think she's ready. K."
Him: "Okay. Sweet. Settled."
Me: "Yep. You let me know when you're ready, big boy."

Three days later-

Me: "Ok, we're gonna try her in her crib tonight. You know, to celebrate her 3 month birthday today. YAY!"
Him: "Wait a minute. I need to go check weather.com"
Me: FortheloveofPETE "Why?"
Him: "Hold on. Checking. Yep. There are some possible bad thunderstorms tonight. Tonight is not a good night. She needs to sleep in our room."
Me: "Because she has already decided she is afraid of storms (ahem, potential storms) and would just get too scared, right?"
Him: "Yes. Exactly."
Exactly.

I give up. I'm moving both of them to the nursery next week.

xoxo dae

too cute! I was ready to give Zaden the boot before Brett was...in fact, his first night in the nursery Brett asked if I thought he should go in there and sleep on the floor! My only issue with that was that he didn't budge when he heard him in our own room, so really, what good did he think that was going to do?? Good luck!
