Well, last night was one of the more memorable events that has happened to us lately, so we just thought we would share:

3:30pm I win tickets at work to go to the Predators vs. Hurricanes hockey game at 7pm. Ben and I have never been to a Predators game, so we are pumped. Call Ben, make plans to meet and go to the game.
4:00pm Check the weather. Interesting. But nothing coming our way until atleast 11pm, so we are in the clear.
5:00pm Meet Ben, drive to downtown Nashville, park, walk, loving the evening. We are so excited to be going to our first Preds game!
6:30pm Funnel cakes, Mountain Dew, and GREAT SEATS. Thank you, GNAR.
7:00pm I now have an immeasurable amount of awe for hockey players. Their speed, flexibility, energy, and understanding of the chaos that I am watching in the ice amazes me. Ben and I agree we wouldn't be able to make it through practice, let alone the actual game.
9:20pm First (and only) score of the game! GO PREDS!!!
9:21pm Concerned friends call us, telling us tractor trailers are flipping over on the interstate. Ummmm...... thats not so good.
9:25pm "Ladies and Gentleman, with 3 minutes left in the game, we just wanted to interrupt to let you know that there is a severe thunderstorm and tornado warning for the downtown Nashville area. Please do not leave when the game is over." Oh. Boy. But what if we leave now, before the game is over??
9:32pm Predators win, we are loving it. But wondering - why we didn't leave an hour ago? We knew bad weather was coming. Stupid, stupid, stupid... we listened to a weather man.
9:33pm " Ladies and Gentleman, please make your way out of the Sommet Center arena and into the tunnels." TUNNELS??
9:34pm "What did they say?" "Where do we go?" "Why aren't they letting us leave?" People, please. TORNADO W-A-R-N-I-N-G!!
9:35pm The Human Flood of hockey fans gets corralled into the underground tunnels of Nashville, and we wait. And worry about our dog. And tell eachother we love eachother. Gosh, we're dramatic.
10:00pm We're released. Freedom! We walk up and out of whatever tunnel we were in and almost get thrown into the nearest building from the wind. At the same time a tornado siren goes off. Please Lord, just get us to the parking garage.
10:10pm On our way home, and Ben swears he sees a cow flying across I-24. "Just a little windy", he says.
11:00pm Get home, give thanks, get in bed.
Predators 1 - Hurricanes (or tornadoes) 0
(I can't leave without asking that you please pray for those families and neighborhoods that were significantly affected by the storm. I can talk about our evening as just eventful, but it was really bad in several areas close to us, so we are praying for those people who did experience the worst of it.)
Til next time, peace, love, and Zamboni's-

You crack me up! Seriously, you should write a book :)
OK, so when I left this open for your Dad to read he had this Oh-so-obvious grin on his face that said "That's my Little Sweetie!"
