There's No Looking Back

I'm just rebreaking the ice here.

I feel like I've been so far removed from my little blogster here that I don't even know where to begin.
What do I have to say, where do I start? How in the world am I going to find the time to sort through the 1,751 pictures on my iPhone and figure out which ones to chat about?

I could talk about ear infections. We've been through so many of those I could write a short and very sleep deprived novel.

I could talk about cooking. And finding a granola recipe that rocked my world (I have obsessive food issues). Or the polenta lasagna that I really just need to calm down about.

I could talk about how my sweet Savior has been whispering to me and maybe, just maybe, I'm slowing down long enough to listen to him and how that has kind of been shifting my world a little a lot.

I could talk about how my three year old is refusing to be called by her given name. (Please refer to the oldest in this family as SpiderGirl, or if in the general vicinity of her baby sister, she is Sissy or Sissaroo. But sometimes she is a dog and then her name is Shelby and SOHELPYOU if you get that one wrong because then the dog has a little bit of a identity crisis.)

I could talk about the last several months of life and everything that came along with it, but it's just too meaty to unpack right now.

So as much as I would like to update this bad boy with all of the undocumented events and life details I have neglected over the last several months, I'm just going to cut that annoying little string of guilt.

My youngest is almost 18 months old. And while there will apparently not be nearly as many posts up to this point about her toddlerhood, I can assure you that it has been anything but boring.
My oldest turns four in right about two months and I can also assure you that I will be anything but emotionally stable that day because, really, FOUR? My heart cracks a little just saying the number.

Here's what we look like these days.

iPhone, juice, pacy, and shades. Good to go.

Alayna had a little ear tube surgery, and my office sent her a Hello Kitty fruit arrangement. Sweetest.
The look you see here is the "Why yes, I just ate three chocolate covered strawberries and no I am not planning on stopping" version.
I eventually had to hide the rest of it because she was about to turn into a little melon ball herself.

A lot of life is a blur. These two are action packed.

We have a lot of dancing in tulle.

And in a few years instead of being cute this scenario will make my heart stop. "C'mon, Layners! Get in and I'll drive ya'!"
I plan on keeping them in the driving version that only costs a quarter and is stationary for as long as possible.
On a proud note, Kaelyn was very concerned that there were no seatbelts. Safety starts early, folks.

OK!

I made a post!

I can do this.
