Alayna, 9 months (plus a little)
- 21 lb., 14 oz, and 29.5 inches. Which equates to one very tall, sweet chunk of a baby.
- Her first word, which Ben says is not really counted as a word, but just a sound mimic, was "Uh oh". Followed a week later by the drop-my-cup-"uh oh!" game. I'm going with word.
- The next one was "Mama", but I think this is more a mimic than a word, since she doesn't associate it with me yet. But it still sounds like honey when I hear her say it. :)
- Loves loves LOVES her big sister. When Kaelyn walks in the room or Alayna hears her, this baby sister will make owl-neck moves until she finds her idol.
- Hates to get dressed. Or undressed for that matter. It's like wrestling with a slick little piglet after bath time when I lotion her down and try to get pj's on her.
- Diaper changes are an Olympic feat. Because she can arch, flip, and roll faster than I can say Desitin. And then she laughs about it. Stinker.
- Makes the absolute best faces when she's eating. Which she's doing, unless she is-
- Crawling. At lightning speed. Seriously. We have to keep shoes on her feet because she gave herself carpet burn on the tops of her them from dragging them and scooting around so fast.
- She somehow innately knows that it is hilarious to turn and run if I say "I'm comin' to GETCHA!". Squeals and laughs the whole time. I die.
- Her favorite toys are loud ones. Anything she can bang together, clap, shake, rattle or roll.
- Refuses any more babyfood. If she can't feed herself, she isn't having it.
- Has the best little hugs and kisses all the time. I could just inhale her.
Kaelyn, 3 years (plus a little)
- There aren't enough words to describe how special she is. Really. I have a hard time finding them.
- 30 lbs., and is a great big personality in a tiny little package.
- Loves all things pink, sparkly, twirly, and sweet. Especially cupcake icing, chocolate ice cream, and brownie batter.
- Is the best big sister, always shhh'shing and patting Alayna if she is fussy, singing to her, or bringing her a toy.
- Is learning how to share toys now that the little munchkin can reach them too. She had one day of "What the heck is going on?" and then moved on.
- Could stay outside 12 hours a day. Loves everything about it. Filling the bird feeder, watering the garden, riding her bike, helping Dad with anything. And especially loves to say, "Hey, Mom, I have a great idea. Let's go for a WALK."
- Has started saying "Hold me.", instead of "Hold'ju me.", which was our absolute favorite. I got choked up the first time she said it right. Which was really wrong to me.
- Tells me every time she finds a new freckle, and says her Jesus gave it to her. And that he gave her her long hair and her teeth too, because he gives us "eeerrrrything!"
- Still loves all things Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
- Has found the power in that unavoidable one word sentance..."Why?"
- Loves the iPhone. Completley.
- When asked if she wants to do something that she doesn't- "Mmmmmmmm (head tilted), probablllllllly..... No."
