Sweet Heavenly Days of Spring... and Summer?

Really. I had no idea keeping up the blog would be this much of a challenge.
Who am I kidding.
It isn't a challenge at all.
It's called non-existant.
Winter turned warm, spring rolls into summer, and I wake up one day and my mind is full of recipes I want to share, tidbits I want to write, pictures I want to post, life updates I want to record, and thoughts that are in my head one moment and forgotten the next.
Such is the beautiful life of this white woman these days. (Get it? White? Hardy har... laaaaame.)

Get ready, I'm about to overflow the picture bank.

March 2012
We headed on down to Bama for a great weekend of just relaxing with the fam. We all met up at Sissy's house and ate, bounced on the trampoline, ate, went fishing, ate, and ate. (Full picture slideshow by LuLu in the last post).

April 2012

It may not be nearly as much as I like, but my sweet darling of a sewing machine is getting a little use. Ruffled skirt was pretty popular ( I was told it wasn't a ruffle skirt, it was a twirly skirt. I stand corrected.)

My twirly skirted three year old and her best friend had a little birthday party.
Three didn't hit me as emotionally hard as I thought it would, I think because I am enjoying it so much. There's no time to be all mushy and sentimental when you have cupcakes to make, ladies!!

And boy, did we have cupcakes. :)

The two besties.

Oh, how was my Easter, you ask? Glorious. I spent the whole day on the couch after falling in the garage and managing this:

Now that's a good way to just go and botch up your entire spring wardrobe, believe me.

Lucky for me there is never a moment I cannot be entertained, so I had plenty to take my mind of the loss of skin.

Look at that bald little chub face of a doll.

Bath time is always entertaining, even if your child sits sideways because the picture wont' rotate. (%(*&#$!!!)

And for #3 this dollface got a keyboard and Magnadoodle, which she happily entertains us with in - in her princess castle no less.
Don't you do your best work in your castle??

For her special day she asked to go to the zoo and on a picnic, so that's what we did. And my heart can hardly handle her happiness.

Then bathtime graduated to a 2-for-1 special because a 22lb. 8 month old does not fit in a baby bath comfortably, and big sister was really tired of waiting her turn.
And guys, this was a PARTY. Don't think I'm kidding when I say I took them out and they both screamed at me. I was a total buzz kill and they were not thrilled. Shame on Momma for only letting their fingers get moderately pruny and the water borderline Arctic.

Weather like we've been having calls for a late afternoon swing. This was her first ride....

Not really sure what's going on...

Think I like it....

BEST. DAY. EVEEEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!! (Name that movie).

A-baby is transitioning to finger foods. I am transitioning to how the heck to figure this out again. How do you forget so much in two short years? And why is it so much fun to smash and throw when they eat? And why they heck can't I remember to get my finger out of the picture?!?

May 2012
Uncle T'wis and Aunt Jill came for a visit. First Dr. K had to make sure they were healthy enough to participate in weekend activities, apparently. ENT is her specialty, in case you ever need a good one.

Then we loaded up and went here ( one of my all time favorite places)

And picked these. I think the fourth pint was eaten in between picking, but you have to taste test for quality. That's our motto!

Then we headed down to Bell Buckle, cute little old train depot of a town with a yummy cafe, and I attempted to get a shot of these four. I couldn't stop laughing, and they couldn't stop squinting, so this wins Best Shot.

For more details, Jill is much better at those right now ... :) http://chrisandjillianwhite.blogspot.com/2012/04/strawberries-taste-like-strawberries.html
Oh! And at the farm, Layna lucked out and caught me in a sweet giving mood, so she got her first taste of ice cream ( it was home made, creamy, delicious, strawberry. I couldn't resist!)

 And neither could she.

Had to hand it off to someone else so it was out of sight out of mind for her because she would not stop going for it.
She makes her momma so proud.

We have planted the garden. This is one of three. I cannot wait for some summer veggies!!

We have blackberry babies.

And Ben whipped up this bad boy of a toy storage/coffee table as a surprise for me, and won my heart all over again.

Now, don't be surprised if it takes me another month or two to get back here, but until then, I leave you with this.

Mom!!!!!!!!!! I'm NAKED!!!!

xoxo dae
