A Special Day, Giving Thanks, and Keeping Up

First, I'll just say that I get a complete F on keeping up with the blog. Accepted. I have to move on, or I'll drive myself nutso.

There's so much that could be said about how busy being a wife, a mom, a full time employee, and all that jazz is, on top of it being the holiday season, but if you are one or any of the above, then you know how it goes and all of those things I want to say any way.

I am constantly trying to do better at taking time to be in the here, now. I'm a planner, but sometimes I get so ahead of myself I find that I'm not enjoying what is going on at the moment. And boy do I want to enjoy it, because it's going by way too fast if you ask me.

Here's an example. See those two sweet things in this picture (not Ben and I, but thanks for playing:) ? They are getting bigger and bigger and I want to push the pause button. HARD.

Sunday was a very special day for our little family. We had Alayna's dedication ceremony at church, and I lovelovelove how they have the families actively participate and really think about this decision. We were asked to go to a class, given several pages of thought-provoking homework, and basically took a good look at why and how we want to raise our children in a Christian home. One that actively lives out their faith and makes it intentional, a priority, and also prays for the day that our children will choose to accept Christ as Lord and Savior over their lives.

I broke down a dozen times over writing the letter for her to open when she makes that decision, I can hardly think about how I will feel the day in happens. Talk about a floodgate.

We are headed to Savannah for the Thanksgiving festivities, and cannot wa~it! It's only the second time Grandmama and Papaw will have seen Laynie girl, and they are in for a treat.

A 15lb., 97th percentile in height and weight of a love nugget of a treat-

And they get to be in the presence of one highly entertaining and independent princess. Who likes to drive around with her best girl, in her Jeep, while chatting on the phone. And don't forget the tiaras.

Yeah.
Pause button.

 For real.
I am not ready for sixteen quite yet.

Blissfully Busy,
xo dae
