In Honor

This is my Mom.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!!!

This is me telling the world about you.

Dear World,
She is the one who taught me what true love is, showed me what true commitment is, practiced for me what a real role model should be. She is the one that took me to church, taught me how to read, and taught me how to pray. She exercised inhuman amounts of patience when she would have been justified to tar and feather me. She let me eat my dessert first and dinner later, introduced me to the magic of a kitchen, allowed me to express my individuality, even when taking me out in public in that outfit was probably mortifying. She is the one whose advice I seek when I need guidance.
She is the superglue of the family. She is worth far more than rubies. She is who taught me that every day is new, every day is a reason to laugh and love. She is who I want to be when I grow up.

A wife of noble character who can find?

She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

13 She selects wool and flax

and works with eager hands.

14 She is like the merchant ships,

bringing her food from afar.

15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.

16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

17 She sets about her work vigorously;

her arms are strong for her tasks.

18 She sees that her trading is profitable,

and her lamp does not go out at night.

19 In her hand she holds the distaff

and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

20 She opens her arms to the poor

and extends her hands to the needy.

21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;

for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;

she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,

where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them,

and supplies the merchants with sashes.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;

she can laugh at the days to come.

26 She speaks with wisdom,

and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household

and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise and call her blessed;

her husband also, and he praises her:

29 "Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;

but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

31 Give her the reward she has earned,

and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

This is my Mom-in-Love

(And in five years this is the only picture I could find of the two of us together. Seriously?!)

Happy Mother's Day, Lu!!!

I would also like everyone to know about you;

Dear World,
This is the woman who raised the man I would marry. And raised him WELL. Who embraced me into her family with the warmest welcome and amazing love, from day one. So much that I honestly consider myself the luckiest of the lucky to have received her as a mother-in-law. We talk almost every day, and we have a relationship that has enriched my life more than I deserve. She has taught me that laughter is contagious, that there is no such thing as being too giving, and that there is nothing she and God cannot do.
She has showed me constantly, consistently, in every way that I am not just her son's wife, I am her daughter. I am a friend. I am special to her. And for that I will always love her.

Happy Mother's Day to you Mommee, and to you Mama Lu.

Having you in my life, there may be some hope for me yet. I'm learning. :)

Love,
dae xoxoxox

Thank you sounds so lean after all that...still, THANK YOU! Honey! I love you and am so very proud to have the blessing of being your Mommee. Whatever good there is in me is purely God's grace and I'm so thankful He isn't done with me. *Lu Ann, we and He did do pretty good with those two, huh!
