But before either of these events happened, I was ever-so-viciously attacked by a stomach bug last Thursday that left me barely mobile on the living room sofa for over 48 hours. Thank you, evil visitor, for making me not only curse all solid food, but fear that I was starving my unborn child for 2 days. Don't piss off Momma. You were hopefully Lysol'd and Clorox'd to a cruel death. And I helped the junkfood economy by eating Jello and Popsicles 3 days straight. The best of times, the worst of times, what can I say.
So, once I got past the sickness I realized something.
I am officially in my third trimester.Holy Moses.
I can't describe why this shocked me exactly. I guess becauase the first trimester went seemingly so slow for me, I was just anxious to get to the good stuff. And the second trimester was the good stuff, you know, getting the sonogram, finding out its a girl, feeling her kick and all that. And now, this just means I am on the tail end, the closing, of being pregnant. And it is going way way fast.
Not that I don't want to meet K-bug in person, but, I've really enjoyed being pregnant, and the thought of not right now seems a little foreign to me. Ok, so maybe that doesn't make much sense, but I get what I mean. Its been fun. I'm getting use to it. And right when I am getting use to it, its about to change again. Hello, newborn.
And the other thing is that we went to Babies'R'Us to register.
Shoot me in the foot.
It was fun for about 10 minutes. How excited was I that I got to pick out a cute sling?!!? And we bumped in to some old friends while we were there, which was awesome. Then we were off, and the choices of bottles and baby thermometers made my eyes cross. I have no idea which one of these things works best, let alone if I'll ever really need that much stuff. And what bottle sterilizer system goes with which bottle combo?? And how do you figure all that out without even knowing how breastfeeding is going to go? But we recalled what research and friends' suggestions we could, and we pressed on. And Ben talked me out of getting the baby bath that looked like a miniature version of a jet spa, because really, does she need jets in her bath?( and I don't even have them. Just sayin'.) I said he was right, if she took after him she would be making enough bubbles of her own. HA.
So except for the stroller/carseat combo, I think we covered almost everything. We just couldn't decide which one of the 80 carseats were safest, so its back to the AAP and ConsumerReport.com we go until we find our answer!
I also decided to register at this place called the Plaid Rabbit in Frankin for the more non-essential just for fun stuff. Why be practical all the time, right??
So, in my non-practical style of the moment, I'm off to go shop for the biggest dip of chocolate icecream with almonds, toffee, and caramel a girl could dream of. Gosh, I hate it when Ben is going to be home late and I have to get a snack and stall dinner. =)
Peace out.

I spent from where you are now until the day I had Z on bedrest! UGH! Oh, and sorry about the stomach bug, we all had it and it was brutal!
Hey, sweet. If you want some advice on brands and what worked well, and what wasn't worth the price, let me know.
